League Report: Bray Wanderers 1 - 1 Longford Town

Thomas Morgan struck at the death for Bray Wanderers as they salvaged a point at home to Longford Town on Monday night.

The Seagulls have endured a patchy start to the campaign, like Longford, but Morgan's late deflected late hit will serve as a relief to head coach Ian Ryan.

And it could have been worse for the hosts in front of 383 fans at the Carlisle Grounds after Longford Town took an early lead.

The Red and Black struck first through Karl Chambers in the eighth minute.

Chambers netted with a cool finish after Adam Wixted pounced on a misplaced pass from Bray Wanderers' Spanish midfielder Guillermo Almirall.

Longford held firm for most of the game after that, and were only undone in the 104th minute.

With an extended period of stoppage time due to an injury to Jimmy Corcoran and a fracas involving Francis Campbell and Max Murphy - which saw both players dismissed - Longford sat back and were duly punished.

Desperately trying to put in blocks, the visitors were undone when Morgan's deflected effort cruelly escaped the grasp of Town keeper Jack Brady to equalise for the Seagulls, ensuring a 1-1 draw.
