DROGHEDA UNITED

Drogheda United host Sligo Rovers in a bottom half of the table clash on Friday night at Weavers Park (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

And Kevin Doherty’s men will be without EVan Weir, Andrew Wogan and Andrew Quinn through injury.

But they will take confidence from their recent form having drawn four of their last five games.

Although, they are coming into Friday’s encounter off the back of a narrow defeat against Bohemians last weekend.

SLIGO ROVERS

Sligo Rovers boss John Russell wants his side to build on two positive performances last weekend when the Bit O’Red travel to Weavers Park.

Rovers drew against Dundalk and Galway United last weekend at home.

And while it may have been viewed as four points dropped for his side, Russell was ‘pleased’ with his troops.

“I was pleased with how we played even though we only managed two draws last weekend”, he said.

“You can see the players are starting to make good connections on the pitch which was evident in the build up to Fabrice Hartmann’s wonder strike against Dundalk.

“I felt we deserved a penalty in each of the games which was frustrating. I’m hoping these decisions balance themselves out over the course of the season.

“The players have recovered over the last few days and are ready to go again. As always, we must focus on ourselves and play to our strengths.”

Simon Power joins John Mahon and Nando Pijnaker on the treatment table this weekend.

Referee: Mark Houlihan.
