Virgin Media is set to broadcast League of Ireland football on a Thursday night for the first time this coming May.

This marks an expansion in their football coverage, with three live TV fixtures confirmed for the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division on Virgin Media Two.

The scheduled Thursday night fixture will see Drogheda United travel to the RSC to play Waterford on 23 May.

In addition, league leaders Shelbourne will be featured in two other live TV matches as they visit Derry City and St. Patrick's Athletic.

VMTV had earlier announced an increase in their live League of Ireland coverage for 2024, now televising 14 games throughout the season.

This enhancement doubles their broadcast commitment compared to previous years.

As for the upcoming fixtures, the match between Derry City and Shelbourne at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium is now scheduled for 19:45 on Monday, 6 May.

The confirmed TV broadcasts for the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division on Virgin Media Two are as follows:

St Patrick’s Athletic vs Shelbourne – Monday, 20 May at 19:45
