Ryan Casey appointed Sligo Rovers under-17 boss

Sligo Rovers have announced the appointment of Ryan Casey as the club’s new under-17 manager for the 2019 campaign.

Casey was previously the Bit O’Red’s assistant manager for a brief spell during the 2017 campaign, when the Showgrounds outfit staved off relegation by the skin of their teeth.

In addition, Casey was also the regional development officer for the FAI while also enjoying previous stints with Castlebar Celtic as the senior team manager.

He brings overseas coaching experience to the Showgrounds from his time as Director of Coaching at US Development Academy Club Everton FC Westchester, based in Connecticut.

Casey will be assisted by Packie Lynch in his backroom team at the Showgrounds.

The club announced the departure of the previous under-17 management team of Colm Jinks and Danny O’Leary ahead of the upcoming national league campaign.
