Teenage striker Lido Lotefa signs first pro deal with Dundalk

Champions Dundalk have announced that under-19 striker Lido Lotefa has signed his first professional contract.

The 18-year-old joined the Lilywhites from under-19 champions Bohemians during the summer and has impressed enough in that short time to earn a senior deal at Oriel Park.

Congo-born Lotefa – whose brother Christian is a midfielder for Athlone Town – made his senior bow for the club in the Leinster Senior Cup semi-final defeat to St Patrick’s Athletic in September.

Lotefa, who came through the ranks with St Kevin’s Boys, was named in the Bohemians side that faced Dundalk in the under-19 league in May and soon afterwards made the move north.

“I am happy to sign. It has been a great place to be and I have enjoyed my time here since I joined,” the forward told the club’s official website.

“It is a great club and I have been given good opportunities. I want to progress further and improve. The hard work starts for me now and I am looking forward to getting back.”
