Bohemians sign full-back Luke Wade-Slater from Stevenage

Bohemians have announced the signing of full-back Luke Wade-Slater after the Dubliner opted to leave English League Two side Stevenage.

The 20-year-old recently returned to Stevenage following a loan spell with Southern League Premier side Kings Langley.

Former St Kevin’s Boys schoolboy Wade-Slater was one of four, along with Liam Brady, brother of Robbie, Mikey Cregan and Jamie Gray, to join the Hertfordshire side in 2015.

Wade-Slater signed his first professional deal with the club in late 2017, having made his league debut as a substitute against Southend shortly beforehand.

He made his fifth and final appearance for the Boro as a substitute in a 3-1 league win over Exeter City in April 2018.

“Luke is someone we’ve been monitoring since the summer,” manager Keith Long told the Gypsies’ official website.

“He’s a wide player with an eye for goal. I’m delighted to have him on board. Luke is a good lad, a good player, and has had a good schooling with St Kevin’s.

“Like all of the young lads coming home and into the squad, this is going to be a different challenge for him and a step up.

“But he has quality and I believe he has the hunger in his belly to learn and succeed at Bohemians.”
