Declan Rice omitted as Norway-born Sean McDermott receives first senior Ireland call

Norway-born goalkeeper Sean McDermott has received his first senior international call-up for Ireland in the squad to face Wales and Poland in the UEFA Nations League next month.

West Ham United’s Declan Rice is the major omission following continued speculation about the England-born midfielder’s long-term international allegiance.

Callum Robinson of Preston North End has received his first call-up for an official game after receiving international clearance.

His Preston teammate Graham Burke is also retained after scoring on his full debut against the United States in June.

The finalised squad will meet up on September 2nd before travelling to Cardiff to face Wales on the 6th and continuing on to Poland ahead of the second game on September 11th.
