Cabinteely sign ex-Ireland under-17 star Jean Yves Poame from Sunderland

Cabinteely have added former Ireland under-17 international Jean Yves Poame to their squad for the remainder of the 2018 season.

Blanch native Poame has spent the past four years with the Sunderland academy, having joined from schoolboy side Corduff in 2014.

The midfielder, who turned 20 earlier this week, was released in the summer following the Black Cats' relegation to the third tier of English football.

Poame's time at the Stadium of Light was hampered by the discovery of coronary issue that required him to undergo heart surgery and take a year out of football.

He made his debut as an injury-time substitute for Luke Clucas during Friday's 2-2 draw at home to Drogheda United.
