League Preview: Athlone Town -v- Cabinteely

ATHLONE TOWN

Athlone Town host Cobh Ramblers on Monday night (kick-off 3pm) in the only First Division game to overcome the weekend's barrage of snow.

Having seen Friday's 3-1 defeat at home to UCD delayed by half an hour due to a power failure, a daytime kick-off is just the tonic for the home side as they seek their first points.

After conceding ten goals in their first two games, there were encouraging signs as Athlone went in at half time still scoreless.

A Georgie Kelly hat-trick after the break put paid to Athlone's ambitions, however, though Ger Smyth did make it 2-1 late on before Kelly completed his treble.

Athlone Town have not provided any team news for this game.

CABINTEELY

Cabinteely fell to their third straight league defeat on Friday as they went down to a 3-1 defeat away to title favourites Galway United.

Danny Furlong scored either side of a Conor Barry strike before Joe Doyle scored a late consolation for Cabo.

Christian Lotefa was sent off late in the game and will miss tonight's fixture as a result, but no other team news has been provided.
