Finn Harps complete double-swoop for Donegal men Mark Timlin & Peter Burke

Finn Harps have completed a double-swoop for winger Mark Timlin and goalkeeper Peter Burke from Derry City and Cliftonville respectively.

22-year-old Timlin arrives following a frustrating half-season with Derry City as he's struggled to oust first-choice wide options Ronan Curtis and Josh Daniels.

The former Ipswich Town trainee scored on his debut for the Ballybofey club on Friday night, scoring the second goal in a 3-2 away win over Bray Wanderers.

The winger previously spent two successful years at the Brandywell, scoring ten goals in 28 appearances during the 2015 season.

At the end of that season, Timlin moved to Dublin to join St Patrick's Athletic, scoring eight goals in 26 league appearances for the Saints.

He returned at the beginning of 2017 with the Candstripes set to play their games in his hometown of Buncrana but has made just three starts, and appeared eight times off the bench, in the league.

21-year-old Burke is also a native of the Inishowen peninsula, hailing from Moville, and he has spent the past two years at Solitude since joining from Sunderland.

The former Ireland under-19 international spent three years at the Stadium of Light but left without making a breakthrough to the senior side in 2015.

He replaces another underage international in Harry Doherty. The former Cockhill Celtic keeper has left after failing to overcome incumbent goalkeeper Ciaran Gallagher this season.
