Killian Brennan and Marc Griffin Leave Drogheda United

Killian Brennan and Marc Griffin have become the latest players to leave Drogheda United, following Gareth McCaffrey who left the club last month.

Drogheda-born midfielder Brennan joined brothers Sean and Gavin at their hometown club ahead of the 2017 Premier Division season following his departure from Shamrock Rovers.

The three time league winner and 2013 player of the year made his debut for the Boynesiders in the first game of the season away to Galway United.

However, Brennan landed awkwardly and broke his collarbone just before halftime, an injury which would rule him out of action for two months.

Brennan has been in and out of the team, having picked up a number of injuries in the games since his return from the broken collarbone and has now been released by the club.

Griffin joined Drogheda United ahead of their 2016 First Division campaign. The former Dundalk and Bohemians forward went on to score four goals in 28 appearances in 2016 - his most important goal being the opener in the 2-0 win away to Cobh Ramblers in the first leg of the First Division promotion play-off.

Drogheda were promoted through the playoff thanks a dramatic second leg comeback against Wexford Youths and Griffin re-signed with Drogheda ahead of the 2017 campaign.

Griffin would go on to make twelve appearances this season, scoring just once in a 3-1 Louth Derby defeat away to Dundalk.
