Ryan Masterson signs for Drogheda United

Drogheda United have announced the signing of forward Ryan Masterson from Hyde United.

The Dublin-born former Cherry Orchard front man, signed his senior contract at Hyde in July 2014 after prolific performances at youth and reserve level for the Tigers.

Masterson went on to break into the first team and scored his first goal against Barrow in January 2015, scoring six times in 22 appearances that season.

The forward joined Drogheda on trial and played in a friendly for the Boynesiders against a Republic of Ireland Under-21 side recently.

Masterson has now signed for the Louth side and may make his debut against Derry City tomorrow night should Drogheda receive international clearance in time.
