St Patrick's Athletic opened pre-season in spectacular fashion with a resounding 5-0 win over Bluebell United at John Hyland Park in Baldonnel.

Gavin Peers led the side in more ways than one, netting twice with his head in the first period as he got off to a flying start (literally for his second goal) to life with the Saints.

Another new signing, Kurtis Byrne, got off the mark on the stroke of half time, and the scoring continued after the break despite Liam Buckley making nine changes as Aidan Keena and Graham Kelly made it five.
