Limerick reinforce defensive lines

Brian O'Callaghan and Barry Ryan are the latest pair to join Stuart Taylor's Limerick squad for the 2013 season, having both agreed deals with the club.

Ryan, who tied down the number one spot last year, has put pen to paper for his third season on Shannonside. Ryan is the first goalkeeper to be signed up by Stuart Taylor, following the departure of Barry's brother Dave, to Inchicore.

The veteran stopper was central to Limerick's league-winning campaign last season, helping Limerick to a fantastic defensive record for 2012; conceding just twenty times in twenty-eight games.

Despite being on Limerick's books for quite some time now, Brian O'Callaghan's spell on Shannonside has been hampered by injury. Having clearly impressed the manager enough with his fitness levels, the thirty-one year old centre half has re-signed with the Blues for 2013.

Brian's previous clubs include Notts County, Barnsley, Halifax Town as well as a stint with Cork City.

Speaking to the club's website, Brian declared his excitement for the forthcoming season. “I am delighted to sign and I'm looking forward to next season in the Premier. I’ve worked very hard to recover from injury and I’m really looking forward to the challenge of getting back into the first eleven.”
