Shields re-signs for Dundalk

Dundalk have confirmed that captain Chris Shields has re-signed with the club for the 2013 season.
The 23-year-old joined the Louth club from Bray Wanderers in January of last year, and proved to be one of the starring players in what was a disappointing season for the Lilywhites.
Shields is by trade a tenacious and hard-working midfield player, but was known to operate across the back four at times last season.
Shields made his Dundalk debut in the Louth derby at Drogheda United in March 2012, and crowned his home debut with a goal against UCD a week later.
