Shamrock Rovers and Ireland U-21 international left-back Enda Stevens looks set to sign for Premier League giants Aston Villa.

Stevens is believed to be heading to Alex McLeish's men for a fee rumoured to be around €250,000. There is good news for Hoops fans though as it seems the transfer will not become active until January – allowing Stevens to play in Rovers' Europa League campaign, which will see them face Tottenham Hotspurs, POAK Salonika and Rubin Kazan.

About Enda Stevens
Hailing from Dublin, Enda began his playing days at Cherry Orchard before going on to have trials for Nottingham Forest, Hull City, Stockport County and Yeovil Town eventually signing for UCD in 2008. He made just two league appearances at the club before moving on at the end of the 2008 season.

In 2009 he was one of new manager Jeff Kenna's first signings for St Patrick's Athletic and he made his professional debut in a 1-0 win over Cork City at Turners Cross. Enda soon established himself in the first team where he made himself the club's first choice left back. He also played a vital part in the Saints 2009 European campaign playing in all six of St Pat's Europa league fixtures.

At the start of 2010 he signed for Shamrock Rovers, winning his first league title with the Hoops in that year and he also appeared in the 2010 FAI Cup final defeat to Sligo Rovers. He played a vital role in Rovers successful qualification into the Europa League Groups 2011.
