Crystal Palace player Izzy Atkinson has made a super start to her time with the Eagles as she has been named the Women’s Championship Player of the Month for February.

The 22-year-old winger who joined the club from West Ham debuted against Charlton Athletic at the end of January, before scoring in her next game against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium as Palace won 2-1.

She made it two from two by finding the back of the net in a 4-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.

She is second Palace player to win the Championship Player of the Month award this season, after Annabel Blanchard won in September.

The 15 time capped Ireland international played in both of the Girls in Green’s recent friendlies – the scoreless draw away to Italy and the 2-0 loss to Wales in Tallaght Stadium.
