Cork City have announced Cian Coleman as the latest player to commit to the club ahead of the 2024 League of Ireland season.

The defender spoke with the club website saying: “I’m glad to have signed a new contract with the club, it’s a big season for us. We want the league and I know that myself, and everyone at the club, will be giving everything to make that happen.

The manager has put a good squad together and I’m looking forward to getting back in front of our fans at Turners Cross.”

Coleman began his career with Cork City academy before spells with Cobh Ramblers, Limerick and St. Patricks Athletic.

He signed back with Cork ahead of the 2020 and has gone on to make over 100 appearances since then.

“I am pleased to have Cian signed back for the season ahead,” manager Tim Clancy said.

We needed to add more numbers in defensive areas, which he does, and he also has a lot of experience that he can bring to the group. Having spoken to him, I know he is hungry to roll up his sleeves and work hard for the club.”

Cork City open their campaign against Kerry in a Munster Derby in Turners Cross on the 16th of February.
