Chris Lyons has completed his switch to Longford Town from Bray Wanderers.

Lyons, 30, joins the Bishopsgate side from their First Division rivals.

The striker has a wealth of experience from around the league through spells at Sligo, Shelbourne, Shamrock Rovers B team, Bohs, UCD, and Drogheda.

And he joins a Longford side aiming to improve on a disappointing season where they missed out on the playoffs.

Speaking to the club website Lyons revealed what convinced him to join: “From my first conversation with Stephen Henderson, I knew he was a genuine man and his hopes for the club are very realistic.

“Also being faithful to a large number of players from last season’s squad meant that players loved playing under him and he was loyal to them.

“He knows what sort of player I am and I think both of us will get the best out of each other.”
