Watch: Cork City maintain unbeaten run with away win over Derry

Cork City were made to work to maintain their unbeaten record as they came from a goal down to beat Derry City at Maginn Park on Friday night despite playing the last 20 minutes with ten men.

Derry opened the scoring after just 17 minutes, Ronan Curtis having already hit the post, when Barry McNamee latched on to a Rory Patterson flick-on and blasted the ball past Mark McNulty.

Cork were on level terms by the half-hour, however, as McNamee gave the ball away inside his half and Sean Maguire played the ball through for Karl Sheppard, who fired first time past Ger Doherty.

And they took the lead in spectacular fashion five minutes later as Gearóid Morrissey lined up a shot from the edge of the box and hammered an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

Jimmy Keohane was shown a second yellow card 20 minutes into the second half for a professional foul on Dean Jarvis, having only been booked a minute earlier, but City held out for victory.
