Watch: Drennan on target as FAI Junior Cup semi line-up confirmed

The line-up for the semi-finals of the 2017 FAI Junior Cup was confirmed last week as Sheriff YC, Evergreen, Killarney Celtic and Boyle Celtic sealed passage to the final four.

Former Aston Villa and Shamrock Rovers striker Mikey Drennan scored the only goal of the game as Kilkenny's Evergreen scraped past Limerick's Kilmallock in a scrappy game in Kilkenny City.

Killarney Celtic reached the semi-finals for the first time thanks to a 2-1 victory after extra time at home to Limerick side Janesboro, despite being reduced to ten men late in normal time.

The Limerick District League side took an early lead when John Tierney scored from distance but Jamie Spillane equalised for the hosts midway through the second period.

Peter McCarthy saw red for a seemingly innocuous shove as extra time loomed, but ten-man Killarney prevailed thanks to substitute Stephen Hayes.

Roscommon's Boyle Celtic have also reached the semis for the first time following a dramatic 6-5 penalty shoot-out win over Waterford side Carrick United.

Former Ipswich Town and Waterford United playmaker Jack Doherty opened the scoring for Carrick before goals from Mick Corrigan put Boyle in the driving seat.

However Carrick equalised in injury time through Keith Walsh and the game went to injury time, susbstitute Jack Walsh saw his spot-kick saved by Kyle Suffin.

Finally, favourites Sheriff sealed passage thanks to goals from former Bohemians man Anto Murphy and John Rock, after Billy McCarthy had equalised for the hosts from Tipperary.
