Ireland Women's under-19 squad named for Czech Republic friendlies

Republic of Ireland Women's under-19 manager Dave Connell has named his 18-woman squad for the upcoming friendly double-header against the Czech Republic in Barcelona later this week.

The squad includes seven players from Women's National League and FAI Cup holders Shelbourne, while all but one of the squad (Oakland University's Nadine Maher) is based domestically.

The pair of friendlies will serve as preparation for the European Championship Elite Phase qualifiers, which will take place in Limerick in April.

The Irish team take home advantage in the final phase of qualification, where they will take on Scotland, Finland and Ukraine at Limerick's home ground, the Markets Field.

Connell's side topped their qualifying group with three wins from three over hosts the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Wales and Italy, scoring 14 and conceded none.
