Cobh Ramblers unmask #JoinPaul with big video reveal

For the past couple of weeks Cobh Ramblers have teased those of us on social media with the invitation to #JoinPaul – with the promise that all would be revealed on Wednesday.

The hashtag garnered attention the length and breadth of Ireland, with fans of the Rams and other League of Ireland clubs lending their support, aswell as further afield.

Cobh native and Salford City player Stephen O'Halloran gave his support in the form of a Snap, while in one of those baffling League of Ireland moments ex-WWF wrestler Diamond Dallas Page tweeted some words of encouragement.

The big reveal came, as promised, on Wednesday morning with the release of a Youtube video following 'Paul,' a Cobh Ramblers obsessive whose phone screensaver is Roy Keane and whose bedside locker is adorned with a definitely real photo of himself with boss Stephen Henderson.

The premise is simple – Cobh want fans, whether new, old or lapsed, to join 'Paul' by taking advantage of their season ticket offer to ensure the on-field progress of 2016 is reflected in the stands in 2017.

The biggest crowd to pack into St Colman's Park for a good many years came to the promotion play-off first leg as 2,000 people cheered on the Rams as they lost 2-0 to a more-fancied Drogheda United side.

The video and viral campaign were created by MBS marketing students at Cork IT, who will be partnering with the club throughout the coming season.

Season tickets are priced at €120 for an adult and €60 for students and senior citizens. Find out more at cobhramblers.ie.
