Limerick FC are facing a tough job tonight when Pat Scully takes his men to Morton Stadium to take on an in form Sporting Fingal. Liam Buckley’s side have won their last six league games in a row while Limerick will be looking to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat to Waterford.

The home side will be without Robert Bayly after the midfielder was sent-off in last Saturday’s 3-1 win at Longford Town. Liam Buckley is also without Gary O’Neill (groin) as well as Daniel Corcoran and Lorcan Fitzgerald (both hamstring). Both Corcoran and Fitzgerald are back in training however and could be fit for Monday’s EA Sports Cup second round tie away to Drogheda United.

There is some good news on the injury front for three players who missed the Longford fixture as Shaun Maher (foot), Shaun Williams (groin) and Robbie Doyle (knee) have all recovered from their knocks and are available for selection.

Sporting manager Liam Buckley feels that his side still has a lot to improve on. “The team are getting towards the level we know they can reach.” he said. “Our first half performance in Longford Town was excellent but not so great after the break. It’s vital that we maintain the performance levels for the 90 minutes and give ourselves the best possible chance of continuing this good run.”

Both managers in the dugout tonight had spells in charge of Shamrock Rovers and Buckley was full of praise for his counterpart. He said: “Limerick have collected seven points from their last four league matches and, in manager Pat Scully, they have someone renowned for building strong foundations in the side.” Scully feels that his side need to get off to a good start at Morton Stadium tonight. "We started the game off completely wrong and we just were not aggressive enough. That's something we have to get away from. We need to be braver right from the start.
