League Report: Bray Wanderers 0 - 1 Bohemians

Bohemians got the job done, albeit by the slenderest of margins at the Carlisle Grounds on Saturday evening, where they maintained their 100% start to the campaign by defeating winless Bray Wanderers.

Bray at times looked good on the ball, but the real chances all fell to Bohs, who got the games only goal when a low second half shot from Adam Evans was enough to beat Stephen McGuinness.

Bohs dominated the first half but were unable to hit the net. Derek Prendergast did beat Stephen McGuinness from close range, but he was deemed to be offside when the ball came through to him from Roberto Lopes. Coming up to half-time both sides started to look better coming forward with Bohemians still creating the better chances.

The second half started with some very good play from Bray, with half chances for Chris Lyons and David Scully, but neither were able to hit the target. Ryan McEvoy, who just moments earlier had been booked for body checking Paddy Kavanagh, then headed the ball off his own line. But outside those opening minutes of the second half Bray were dominated by Bohemians.

Bohs finally went ahead after 70 minutes when Evans netted, and from then on kept most of the possession with very few chances for Bray to put Dean Delany under any pressure.

Bohemians can rest for another few days at the top of the table. They are ahead of Dundalk on goal difference, and will hope to put more than goals between the two sides at the top of the table when they host the Lilywhites at Dalymount next Tuesday.
