Crowe and Doyle move to Shels

Yesterday evening, Shelbourne announced the signings of Colm Crowe and Daire Doyle from UCD and Drogheda United respectively.

Crowe had a successful youth career at Stella Maris, during which he was capped for his country at three different age levels; under 15, 16 and 19. After making his debut against Bohemians in February, he played five more competitive matches for the Students in 2013, scoring his first goal against Shels in the Leinster Senior Cup.

Crowe made twenty-four appearances in all competitions last season, including another Leinster Senior Cup game against his new club, as UCD were relegated for the first time since 2008.

Daire Doyle (34) will be a much more familiar name to Shelbourne supporters, particularly from his time with Bray Wanderers.

The early days of Doyle's career were spent as a journeyman across the water; between 1998 and 2007 he had spells with Coventry City, Kidderminster Harriers, Nuneaton Borough, Moor Green, Redditch United and Bromsgrove Rovers.

Since returning to Ireland, Doyle has played for Longford Town, Bray Wanderers and, most recently, Drogheda United.

These two signings add to Kevin Doherty's 2015 squad which already includes Greg Murray, Mark Sandford, Adam O'Connor, Ryan Robinson, Alan O'Sullivan, Philly Hughes and Gareth Coughlan.
