St Patrick's Athletic have today announced that they have resigned midfielder Jordan Keegan.

Keegan has had a previous spell with St Pat’s, back in the 2011 campaign, when he joined from Southampton.

The Dublin native left St Pat’s in the summer of 2011, joining Monaghan where he was instrumental in helping Roddy Collins side achieve promotion to the Premier Division.

Keegan was left without a club in July however after the demise of Monaghan, and he signed with English League One side Scunthorpe United.

The tricky attacker was released early from his contract at Scunthorpe by former Shamrock Rovers boss Brian Laws. Laws cited that the players where not quite up to Scunthorpe’s level.

“There's going to be a partial settlement for the two boys (Hughes and Keegan) so they can move on. It's unfortunate, but they're just not quite at the level we are and where they need to be. I think it's to their detriment if you let them hang around when they've no chance of playing.”
