To open this morning's press conference, charismatic chairman Pat O'Sullivan spoke about his new managerial appointment in Stuart Taylor and what it meant for the future development of the club. "I think our appointment of Stuart reflects how we want to take this club forward. We decided we would cast our net fairly wide in order to find the right man to bring our club where we want to be."

"Stuart will get one hundred per cent of our backing because while I believe managers should be held accountable, I feel it's only fair that the manager has the authority to make those decisions. This has been a bit of a drawn out process, but it's fair to say that this position has attracted huge amounts of interest and we only finished the interviews the week after Christmas. This city has an awful lot to offer through sport and I hope that is reflected in the support base going forward. Stuart has a full-time job here, where he is responsible for all footballing matters. The important thing for us was not to make an appointment a month ago, but to make the right appointment."

"The important thing for us is to consolidate ourselves in the Premier Division. We have no immediate ambition to be number one, two or three. The hard work will go in and if it takes us to new heights, then so be it. Consolidation is the key for us."

In other news, following the departure of secretary Michael O'Sullivan who served the club for over twenty years, Limerick have appointed John O'Sullivan as their new CEO. John, who was instrumental in establishing the FORAS trust for Cork City went onto become heavily involved in the running of Athlone Town. A lot of the recent good fortune in both clubs is credited to John, and he is excited about his new role on Shannonside. John will take charge as CEO of the club, with Kieran Judge taking the secretarial duties. John spoke briefly about his reasoning for the move to Limerick.

"One of the reasons I'm here is because of Kieran [Judge] and Pat O'Sullivan. Limerick has great ambition and not just inside the senior team. The club focus on youth setup and development in the community. It's hugely inspiring and all clubs should focus on this. I'm looking forward to starting."
