St. Pat's disgusted at social media comments

 

St. Patrick's Athletic have expressed their disappointment at certain remarks made towards their players via social networks following Sunday's FAI Ford Cup Final defeat to Derry City, and have contacted Gardai in relation to the matter.

The Saints have reiterated that they do not tolerate any bullying or hatred towards the players, staff and fans of the club and are extremely proud of the family nature of St. Patrick's Athletic.

The statement read in full:

"The players and staff of St Patrick’s Athletic wish to express our disgust at some of the comments made on social networking sites towards some of our players and in particular our goalkeeper Brendan Clarke following the FAI Ford Cup Final.


The Club does not tolerate bullying or hatred of any kind towards any of our staff, players or fans and have contacted the Gardai in relation to the matter.

The Club are carrying out a full investigation and the individuals will be brought in front of our disciplinary board.

St Patrick’s Athletic are a family Club and are extremely proud at the success of our team this year and look forward to another successful season next year."
