Last season couldn’t have ended much worse for the Galway outfit, finishing bottom of the First Division. Winning just three games throughout the season, it was difficult for Devon to establish themselves competitively. Playing away from home was more beneficial than at home in last year’s campaign, and this is something that Long and his management team will surely work at rectifying.
There have been no additions to the squad for the upcoming season, which is bound to worry supporters. There are obvious gaps that Emlyn Long will need to address if they wish to improve on last year. The defence conceded 85 goals in the league, whilst only scoring 26 which will sink any club to the relegation battles. But with no signings, one has to wonder where the improvements will come from.
