Madden poised for Carlisle move

Paddy Madden looks set to complete a move from Bohemians to Carlisle United before the close of the English transfer window on Monday night.

Madden will undergo a medical at Brunton Park tomorrow (Monday) before training with his new team-mates for the first time.

The 20-year-old had been linked with several clubs in recent months, including Celtic and Derby County, but feels joining Greg Abbott's men is the right decision.

The Cumbrians currently lie in 11h place in League One, five places off a play-spot and Madden's arrival will help fill the gap after Gary Madine's departure earlier this month.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international was signed by Pat Fenlon from youth side WFTA in July 2008, and having established himself as a prolific goalscorer at youth and reserve level, quickly broke into the Bohs first team.
