Doncaster Rovers sign Keegan

Doncaster Rovers have confirmed the signing of former Bohemians midfielder Paul Keegan.

Keegan has signed for the Championship side on a short-term contract which will expire at the end of the English season.

Doncaster currently lie in 15th place in the English Championship – just eight points off a play-off spot and it is believed Keegan will add a defensive dimension to the Rovers midfield.

The 26-year-old is a former Leeds United youth player and also had a very successful time at Drogheda United before signing for Pat Fenlon's Bohemians in January 2009.

The Dublin-born midfielder was linked with several English clubs before finally signing with Sean O'Driscoll's men after impressing the boss while on trial at the end of last year.

Keegan became something of a fans favourite while at Dalymount Park and won three trophies with the club. This will be seen as yet more disappointing news for fans of the club, which still faces major financial difficulties.
