First Division play-off hopefuls Treaty United have added to their ranks for 204 with the re-signing of defender Mark Walsh.

The Tipperary man has lined out for the Shannonsiders since their first season as a senior League of Ireland club back in 2021.

And the ex-Athlone Town man has played 71 times for the Market’s Field outfit under boss Tommy Barrett.

“Mark is a great lad and a really experienced player despite not having many League of Ireland appearances under his belt,” Barrett told his club’s media team

“There was a big gap between him playing with Athlone Town and joining Treaty United but I always felt he could step up from my time playing alongside him at Athlone.

“He has a super attitude and really looks after himself and, for me, he’s one of the most underrated players in the league.

“He’s a proper defender, never gets caught in one-on-one situations and does his job for the team. He’ll be of huge benefit to the team and the younger players next year.”
