Crumlin United secured an important 1-0 win away to Kilbarrack United on Friday night to breathe new life into their season.

James Lee’s side have endured an inconsistent start to the campaign but they will be hoping that their second win on the spin can catapult them to new heights.

The Dublin 8 side won away to Home Farm last time out and they repeated the trick, albeit against a side who were top of the table prior to kick-off.

Former Bray Wanderers attacking midfielder Eoin McPhillips scored the only goal of the game to secure the win for the visitors at Greendale Road.

But they were not the only side to have picked up a win on Friday night.

Defending champions St Mochta’s came from behind to see off Bluebell United - and remain level on points with now league leaders Lucan United.

Former Athlone Town and Shelbourne attacker Glen McAuley gave the Bell a first-half lead before Mochta’s hit back in the second half.

Sean Heaney and Karl Somers were both on target for Brian McCarthy’s men.

And that victory was important with Lucan United also winning away to Wayside Celtic.

That success was important for the leaders as they went top of the pile following KIlbarack’s defeat.

Meanwhile, St Francis blitzed Home Farm with three early goals to ease to a 4-0 success at John Hyland Park.

Sean O’Mahoney netted a quickfire brace with Sean McManus also getting on the act for the hosts. Ryan O’Callaghan also scored for the Saints.

And there was drama in the other game of the evening with Liffey Wanderers striking late to salvage a point at home to Tolka Rovers.

Former Longford Town striker Jackson Ryan put Wanderers in front before goals from Aaron Townley and Philip Gannon looked to have sent Tolka on their way to a win.

But winger Paul Fox - previously of Bray Wanderers and Cabinteely - scored in injury time to pick up a point for the hosts at Ringsend Astro.
