Scottish side Hibernian has announced the signing of Dutch striker Dylan Vente from Roda JC.

The 24-year-old striker has inked a three-year deal in an undisclosed transfer.

Vente, who will wear the number 9 shirt for Lee Johnson’s side, arrives at Hibs as the club’s ninth acquisition ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The centre-forward has a proven track record of finding the back of the net, scoring 51 goals and providing 16 assists in 98 games during his two-and-a-half-year spell with the Dutch second division side, Roda JC.

A graduate of Feyenoord’s academy, Vente made his way up through the youth ranks to the first-team, featuring in various competitions including the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and the Eredivisie.

He has also represented the Netherlands at the international level up to the under 20s, scoring five goals in 13 appearances.

In welcoming Vente, Hibernian manager Lee Johnson praised Vente's natural goal-scoring and creating abilities, expressing excitement about how the Dutchman will adapt to the Scottish game.

“Dylan is a player coming into his prime who has a natural ability for both scoring and creating goals. I am really excited to see how he adapts to the intensity of the Scottish game because we know he has the attributes to be very successful here".
