League Preview: Bohemians -v- Waterford

BOHEMIANS

Keith Long will hope his Bohs side can bounce back from the derby defeat to Shamrock Rovers when they host Waterford at Dalymount Park on Friday evening (kick-off 5.45pm).

Danny Lafferty’s fourth-minute strike at Tallaght Stadium was enough to send Rovers five points ahead of Bohemians at the top of the Premier Division.

The defeat in the southside venue was the Gypsies’ first in six league games, meaning that Long’s men will be confident of getting back to winning ways on Friday.

Dalymount Park has been a real fortress for Bohs so far this season: the Gypsies have lost just once at home, again a 1-0 defeat to rivals Shamrock Rovers.

At the time of writing Bohemians hadn’t released any team news but they have no suspensions to contend with.

WATERFORD

Waterford will look to carry the momentum from last week’s 3-0 win at home to St Patrick’s Athletic when they travel to Dublin.

Goals from Ali Coote, John Martin and Michael O’Connor gave the Blues all three points at the RSC.

Having only dropped points on the road twice so far this season, Waterford will be hopeful of getting a result against a Bohs side that have been particularly strong at home.
