Watch: Stunning Jonny Bonner strike sees Finn Harps past Cockhill

Finn Harps advanced to the second round of the EA Sports Cup with a 3-1 Donegal Derby win over Cockhill Celtic at Finn Park on Monday night thanks in part to Jonny Bonner's stunning 25-yard strike.

The Buncrana man gave Harps the lead from the penalty spot in the first half only to see Derek Doherty level for Cockhill 15 minutes from the end.

However it was Bonner's long-range goal, moments after Cockhill had levelled, that broke the Ulster Senior League side's resistence before Sean Houston completed the scoring.

The former Derry City and Wexford Youths midfielder's brace helped Ollie Horgan's side to set up a second round meeting at home with newly managerless Sligo Rovers.
