Watch: McNamee's eight-minute hat-trick sees Derry past Drogs

An eight-minute Barry McNamee hat-trick helped Derry City to a deceptively heavy win over Drogheda United at Maginn Park in what tragically turned out to be the late Ryan McBride's final game.

Ronan Curtis opened the scoring for the Candystripes four minutes before the break as he controlled and finished from Nathan Boyle's centre.

The Ramelton native took over from the 75th minute, showing tenacity to beat Gavin Brennan to the ball on the edge of the box before finishing neatly past Stephen McGuinness in the Drogs goal.

He added his second barely a minute late, starting and finishing the move as he shot from the edge of the area after McGuinness had parried Lukas Schubert's effort clear.

And McNamee completed his hat-trick in spectacular fashion seven minutes from time as he curled a free-kick past a motionless McGuinness from all of 30 yards.
