Connolly named Extratime.ie Premier Division Player of the Month for August

Bray Wanderers winger Dylan Connolly has been named Extratime.ie's Premier Division Player of the Month for August.

The award comes as just recognition for the Republic Ireland under-21 international in which three goals in four appearances earned him a recall to Noel King's squad for the games with Slovenia and Serbia.

Connolly's grabbed both his side's goals in a 2-2 draw with high-flying Derry City, while he also set his side on the way to a 2-0 win away to Galway United as the Seagulls extended their unbeaten run to nine games.

The former Shelbourne flier landed 43% of the popular vote, comfortably ahead of Sligo Rovers' Raffaele Cretaro, Shamrock Rovers' Sean Boyd and Derry City's Rory Patterson.

The 21-year-old has been a virtual ever-present in Harry Kenny's team at the Carlisle Grounds since returning to Ireland from Ipswich Town at the beginning of the season.

In the First Division, Limerick midfielder Paul O'Conor was rewarded for his brace in the 3-2 victory over UCD that sealed the title as he secured 36% of the popular vote, just edging the Students' Gary O'Neill.
