Ireland stay 67th in FIFA Rankings

The first FIFA Rankings of 2014 have been revealed with Ireland remaining in 67th place. The Boys in Green find themselves nestled in between Finland and Senegal with Martin O’Neill’s men next facing Serbia in March.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland’s poor run of form sees the nation occupy spot number 90. Countries that have leapfrogged the Green and White Army include Oman, Saudi Arabia and El Salvador.

England remain in the unlucky 13 rank, while Scotland dropped three positions to currently find themselves in 37th. The Tartan Army are now placed in between Panama and Armenia, who occupy 36th and 38th respectively. They have also been surpassed by Cape Verde Islands who are now 35th in the world.

Wales are the only home nations team to move upwards in the standings. Chris Coleman’s side moved up one place to 55th place who now find themselves just behind South Africa.

World Champions Spain remain top of the rankings with the Germans in second, while World Cup hosts Brazil stay in the 10th spot.

Notable movers are Saudi Arabia who climbed 14 positions to 73rd spot, while Turks and Caicos Islands remain bottom of the pile in 207.
