Shane Dolan signs for Shels

Striker Shane Dolan has made a return to the League of Ireland signing for First Division side Shelbourne.

 

Dolan recently spent time in the Danske Bank Premiership with Ballymena United and second tier sides Donegal Celtic and Carrick Rangers.

 

The 25-year-old made 30 appearances for Ballymena, netting seven times. Whilst at Donegal Celtic, the man nicknamed Mario scored three times in 14 games for Donegal Celtic and had a goal every other game for Carrick Rangers.

 

Dolan’s has had previous League of Ireland experience with Drogheda United and Athlone Town and the Dubliner is looking to fire Shelbourne back to the big time. Speaking to Shelbournefc.ie, Dolan said he was “delighted to have signed for Shelbourne.” Dolan added, “It’s a massive opportunity, and club, and I cannot wait to get started and hopefully fire the club back to where they belong.”

 

Shane Dolan joins John McDonnell’s squad for the Reds 2014 First Division campaign along with Lee Murtagh, Michael Duffy, Brian Gannon, Stephen Sheerin, Phillip Hand, Stephen McDonnell, Adam O'Connor, Dylan Connolly, Dylan Cashin, Lee Desmond, Jake Donnelly, Matthew Taylor and Sean McGrane.
