FULL TIME!

And what a result that is...Bray beat Rovers, in doing so ending Rovers unbeaten start to the season, and also showing the rest of the league that the champions are not invincible. Much credit needs to go to Bray, but Rovers were totally underwhelming from start to finish. A result that will reverberate around the league.

90'
Four minutes injury time here. Its going to take someone to be a hero for Rovers.

87'

Yellow Card

Rovers' Ronan Finn is booked for a challenge on Prendergast.

86'
Adam Mitchell has been a one man ball repellent tonight, every ball into the box is either finding his head or his boot. The rest of his team owe him a pat on the back after this.

85'
Another chance for Bray, and perhaps Shield's should have done better. Presented with loads of space and with Kelly free on his left, the midfielder decides to have a shot when the unselfish option would have presented the greater opportunity. His effort never looks like troubling Mannus.

80'
I witnessed Bray's unlikely comeback away to Pats a few weeks ago but, although less dramatic, this will be a remarkable result if it finishes as it is. Rovers have 10 minutes plus injury time to grab something.

78'
Rovers go so close! A loose ball in the box falls to Dean Kelly, and his stooped header has the keeper beaten but drifts agonizingly wide. The closest they have come in 70 odd minutes.

77'
I am going for the commentators curse here and saying that it looks like one of those nights for Rovers. They look completely out of ideas and with Adam Mitchell in such great form Bray look more than capable of seeing this one out.

75'

Substitution

Bray Sub - John Mulroy replaces Conor Murphy, who has put in a tough shift tonight, with little reward

75'

Substitution

Rovers Sub - Dean Kelly replaces Ciaran Kilduff.

71'

Yellow Card

Stephen Rice is now in the book, for following in on a Billy Dennehy free kick and fouling Quiqley in the Bray goal. Believe it or not, that free was Rovers first effort on target.

70'

Yellow Card

Gary Dempsey goes into the book for stopping a threatening Ronan Finn run with a cynical foul.

67'
Darren Quiqley has looked very assured when called into action tonight, dealing with any high ball into the box very confidently. Its going to take something special you feel.

65'
Pat Devlin is kicking every ball out there, and giving the 4th official an awful barracking every now and then to remind him he's there. Its proving great entertainment for this updater anyway.

61'
Another half chance for Bray, as Jake Kelly finds space on the left and his effort is well struck but wide of the Rovers post. You can see more opportunities like this and Murphy's earlier one if Rovers keep pushing forward.

60'
A half hearted appeal by Rovers for a penalty, as Quiqley rushes out to clear the ball. He collides with Ciaran Kilduff in the box, however there never looked like much in it and the referee waves it away. Only to be greeted by shouts of "You don't know what your doing!" from the home crowd. Who'd be a ref?!

59'
A rare chance for Bray, Shield's doing well to turn away from his marker before playing the ball over the top to Murphy. His half volley though is never struck with much conviction and it sails harmlessly over the bar.

58'

Substitution

Rovers Sub - And here is that change, Karl Sheppard replaces Gary McCabe.

52'
Rovers are still struggling to in any way put some panic into the Bray defense, their back four rarely look troubled and are comfortably dealing with any questions asked of them. More of this and another Rovers change is surely on the cards.

50'

Substitution

Bray Sub - Graham Kelly replaces goal scoring hero Danny O'Connor, who looks to be carrying a knock.

49'
Bray are playing with just the one up front now, Conor Murphy looking awful lonely up there surrounded by the Rovers defence. Bray are more than happy with the scoreline as it is, and who would blame them.

47'
No changes for either teams going into the second half by the way, so that forced Twigg for O'Neill substitution is still the only substitution.

46'

Second Half

And we are off again...

45'
The teams are back out, Rovers out first (no doubt with their managers words ringing in their ears), and we are about to get underway once again.

45'
There's kids football teams out on the pitch playing quick games for the half time entertainment. Some of these lads look far sharper than Rovers tonight!

45'

Half Time

Half time at Tallaght and a lot of work for Rovers to do to get back into this one. And without Gary Twigg too.

45'
Darren Quigley is making his debut in goals for Bray tonight, and it couldn't have been more comfortable so far. He has yet to make a save and will take more of this in the second half.

43'
First decent effort for Rovers since the second minute, Ronan Finn finding a rare bit of space outside the box, and his rasping effort is just over Darren Quiqley's bar.

37'

Substitution

Rovers Sub - Well Gary Twigg's evening is now over, that earlier injury (looked like a muscle injury to me) forcing him to withdraw. Gary O'Neill comes on in his place.

36'
I have to say the central defensive pairing of Adam Mitchell and Derek Prendergast have been brilliant so far tonight, mopping up any loose balls and winning any balls into the box. Very reassuring for the away side.

34'
Twigg is now back on to the relief of Rovers fans. He will be anxious to make up for his earlier miss.

33'
It goes from bad to worse for Rovers, as Gary Twigg has limped gingerly off the pitch. Receiving treatment at the moment.

29'
First signs of discontent among the home support as Gary McCabe gives the ball away, which is greeted by moans from the crowd. There needs to be a serious upping of the tempo from the hosts if they are to get back into this game.

22'

Yellow Card

Yellow card for David Webster of Bray as he hauls down Billy Dennehy.

19'
I have to say its been nearly 20 minutes and bar that early Twigg effort Rovers have not threatened at all. Michael O'Neill will not be happy with how things are going.

15'
Rovers are playing a bit like a stunned animal at the moment, that early goal was not part of the script. Bray are very comfortable at the moment. Their team may be stunned, but the Rovers fans aren't as they continue singing into the night, trying to fire their team into a reaction.

10'
I would wager that was O'Connor's first touch of the ball when he stroked it home. Rovers were dominating early possession prior to that. If Gary Twigg was annoyed with himself after missing that early chance, he will be positively remorseful now.

6'

GOAL!

How about this! Bray open the scoring in remarkable fashion, Danny O'Connor found by Murphy on the edge of the box, and his shot from 18 yards finds its way into the the right hand corner of Alan Mannus's net. Just the start this game needed.

4'
First chance of the night and it falls to Gary Twigg. You would have put your house on him scoring after great work by Pat Sullivan down the right gives him a chance to pull back for Twigg, unmarked and less than 6 yards out, but the Scot manages to pull his shot wide. Just as well I don't own a house.

4'
Bray are wearing their navy away kit this evening by the way, in case there is any football kit anoraks (of which I am one)

1'

GAME ON!

Bray kick off and here we go..

0'
And here come the teams, there's a decent sized crowd forming in the stands for this South Dublin derby. Many will be expecting Rovers to comfortably win this one but no doubt Pat Devlin has ideas on how to thwart the Rovers machine.

0'
Ten minutes to kick off now and the players have finished their warm ups. There's a real summer feeling in the air so lets hope we get a great match to go with it.

0'
The lineups are online now for your viewing pleasure. Not surprisingly Rovers name an unchanged side from the team that hammered Drogheda by four goals to nothing last week, while for Bray Darren Quiqley makes his debut in goal and David Webster and Chris Sheild's return to the starting lineup.

0'
Hello and welcome to Tallaght Stadium on this balmy (for Ireland) Aprils eve. The teams are out warming up and the lineups have just come in so keep your eye on the site for further updates!
