Friendly Report: Longford Town 3 - 2 Sligo Rovers

Sligo Rovers slumped to their second successive pre-season friendly defeat as they lost to First Division side Longford Town 3-2 at the City Calling Stadium.
Alan Mathews' side were the better team on the night and found themselves 2-1 up at half time thanks to goals from Noal Haverty and Stephen Walsh early in the first half.
Longford dominated possession at times and never allowed Dave Robertson's team to get any sort of fluidity going.
The only real shinning light for the Bit O'Red was the performance of Daniel Kearns, who scored goals in either half to keep Sligoin the contest, but ultimately he couldn't do anything to prevent Longford from getting the winner.
With the game drawing to a close, Sligo were undone yet again by a Longford set piece. Cody Mulhall rose to met a Kealan Dillon free kick to head the ball past Michael Schlingermann.
While it may still be only pre season, the manner in which Sligo have slumped to defeats to both Galway United and Longford Town will be a concern for both Dave Robertson and the fans.
Longford on the other hand will use this win to gain momentum as they start life again in the First Division.
Sligo now travel to Cliftonville on Friday evening while Longford face another Premier Division side in Finn Harps on Saturday evening.
