Mark played underage football at Keadue Rovers in Donegal before moving on to Derry's Maiden City Academy, from where he was signed by SPL club Hearts in February 2005. He spent two years at the Edinburgh club before being released in the summer of 2007.

Mark then returned to Ireland and signed for Derry side, Institute FC, where he played for one season before moving west to join Finn Harps in July 2008. He played with the club's A Championship side over the remainder of the '08 season and graduated to the first team the following year, making his league debut on the opening night of the 2009 season against Kildare County.

Over the next three seasons Mark became a key member of the Harps midfield, making 83 league and cup appearances before leaving Finn park at the end of the 2011 season. In January 2012 mark signed for Letterkenny Rovers.

Mark returned for a second stint at Finn Park in January 2013 and featured in 11 league games, scoring twice. In 2014 Mark made just 2 league appearances, as well as three outings in cup competition, before leaving the club in July 2014.
