FULL TIME!

The game has ended between Finn Harps and Dundalk.

Unsavoury scenes at the end here as something appears to have gotten under the skin of Finn Harps assistant manager Paul Hegarty. It shouldn't take away from what was been a great performance from Harps. Dundalk are still searching for their first league win under their new head coach Vinny Perth.

Niall Newberry signing out here from Extratime. We really hope that you enjoyed our coverage tonight.

87'

Substitution

Caolan McAleer replaces Nathan Boyle for Finn Harps.

85'

Substitution

Cameron Dummigan replaces Sean Murray for Dundalk.

81'

Harps substitute Niall McGinley is through on goal and looks certain to give the hosts the lead but he's stopped in his tracks by a great Sean Hoare tackle. That interception could prove to be crucial.

78'

How on earth did that stay out? Michael Duffy's cross is headed on by Brian Gartland, whose header is spilled by Peter Burke but Sean Murray can't score from the rebound and the teams remain level.

77'

Substitution

Jordan Flores replaces Dean Jarvis for Dundalk.

75'

Substitution

Niall McGinley replaces Raffaele Cretaro for Finn Harps.

70'

GOAL!

Brian Gartland scores for Dundalk.

Dundalk have finally got their equaliser with 20 minutes remaining here in Ballybofey. Michael Duffy's corner from the right is powered home by the head of captain Brain Gartland. Is there time for a winner here?

67'

Substitution

Mikey Place replaces Sean Boyd for Finn Harps.

65'

Substitution

Daniel Kelly replaces John Mountney for Dundalk.

63'

Still 1-0 to Finn Harps here in Ballybofey. Not much to report in terms of chances since our last update apart from a half-hearted penalty appeal that was waved away by referee Robert Rogers.

58'

Yellow Card

Mark Coyle is booked for Finn Harps.

54'

Dundalk supporters underneath us here in the press gantry are growing increasingly restless as their team struggle to break down this Finn Harps resilience. Testing times these for Vinny Perth.

49'

Yellow Card

Keith Cowan is booked for Finn Harps.

49'

Finn Harps, still buzzing from taking that shock lead, have the second half's first chance as Raffaele Cretaro forces a save from Gary Rogers following some good work down the left by Nathan Boyle.

46'

Second Half

The second half between Finn Harps and Dundalk has started.

45' + 3'

Half Time

It is half-time between Finn Harps and Dundalk.

45' + 1'

Yellow Card

Dane Massey is booked for Dundalk.

41'

GOAL!

Keith Cowan scores for Finn Harps.

Oh, my days... Finn Harps, totally against the run of play, have only gone and taken the lead here. The evergreen Raffaele Cretaro's corner from the left is met by the head of Keith Cowan who puts Harps ahead.

38'

Still no score here at Finn Park in what has been a decent first-half with no shortage of Dundalk chances. Looks to be a very healthy crowd in Ballybofey tonight also. Absolutely fantastic to see.

33'

What a hit that was. Dundalk left-back Dane Massey has just crashed a brilliant free-kick effort off the top of the crossbar. Surely, it's only a matter of time before the Lilywhites break the deadlock?

31'

Not much to report from the last five minutes here asides from my temperamental connection. Apologies if some updates are delayed as a result of this technical issue. We're working on it.

26'

Dundalk continue to dominate here but the game still remains scoreless. Harps don't look much like scoring their first goal against the Lilywhites since 2007 based on the first 25 minutes here.

21'

What an effort that was. Patrick Hoban - last season’s top scorer in the SSE Airtricity League - has just attempted a bicycle-kick from outside the box that goes just wide. Dundalk turning the screw.

18'

It's important to note that Dundalk were equally as dominant in last week's match against Sligo Rovers but still came away with only a point. Vinny Perth will be anxious for a first-half goal here.

13'

Dean Jarvis - playing in an uncompromising role at central-midfield tonight - has just had a long-range shot easily saved by Peter Burke. The visitors having all of the play but it remains scoreless.

12'

Scrappy enough start here but Dundalk are having the better of it thus far with Harps, playing what looks to be a 4-4-2 formation, in defensive mode. Also, interesting to note how narrow the pitch is.

7'

Michael Duffy - last year’s PFAI Player of the Year - has just had a wonderful volleyed effort well saved by Peter Burke in the Harps goal. Nothing amounts from the resulting corner however.

3'

Finn Harps have an early penalty appeal waved away by referee Robert Rogers. Not quite sure what for exactly, but the appeals came after left-back Daniel O'Reilly flashed a header narrowly wide.

GAME ON!

The game between Finn Harps and Dundalk has kicked off.

0'

The team news is that Finn Harps start with Sean Boyd, who only signed for the club on loan from Shamrock Rovers on Wednesday. He comes in for Caolan McAleer, who drops to the bench.

Dundalk themselves make two enforced changes from their opening match with Sligo Rovers last week as Dean Jarvis and Sean Murray start in place of the injured duo of Robbie Benson and Patrick McEleney.

We're approximately 30 minutes away from kick-off here in Ballybofey, so I'm off to grab a nice cupán tae.

Hello and you're very welcome to Finn Park for live updates of tonight's SSE Airtricity League clash between newly-promoted Finn Harps and last season’s double-winners Dundalk (kick-off 8pm).

Niall Newberry (Twitter @niallnewberry) keeping you updated tonight as Harps look to get a result against Dundalk, something they haven't achieved since a promotion/relegation play-off semi-final back in 2007.
