A late Danny Brady header sealed a 2-1 win for English Non League side FC United of Manchester against Bohemians in a summer friendly at Dalymount Park on Saturday afternoon.
New signing from Dundalk Keith Dalton had opened the scoring for Bohemians just before the hour mark at the home of Irish football before Scott Kay equalised with his head shortly afterwards.
The first half started slow but the home side had the frst clear cut chance with 12 mins gone as a great save by Llyod Allinson denied Ciaran O’Connor six yards out.
The visitors made their voices heard throughout the ground all game but almost had a chance to cheer early on but Joel Logan just hit his curling effort over the bar.
FC United had the ball in the Bohs net with 21 minutes played but was disallowed as Shane Supple was fouled catching the cross of Jason ST Juste.
Goalkeeper Shane Supple was the hero for Bohemians in the first half as he managed to save three goalbound efforts as FC United put the home side under sustained pressure.
Bohs failed to get another clear chance at goal for the remainder of the half with Kaleem Simon coming the closest to netting for the home side.
The second period kicked off in a lively manner for Bohs as again Allinson got down well to deny Dalton from close range.
Bohemians were not managing to hit the mark with the chances they created as a very weak effort from Ciaran O’Connor fell straight to Allinson.
Bohs managed to find the net in the 59th minute, a great run down the right into the area by Dalton, ended with the winger hitting a low drive shot that beat Allinson as it went in off the post.
The sides were level shortly after. A cross in from the right was missed horribly by substitute goalkeeper Kian Clarke who made a meal of the cross and Kay powered home a header.
Chances were few for Bohs as United looked to capitalise on draw level but a great shot from Stephen Donnolly almost put them ahead but it cannoned off the post.
FC United rapped up the away win late on as again Clarke failed to catch a cross from the right as it fell kindly for Danny Brady to head home the winner in the 84th Minute.
