Charlton

The Valley

The Valley has been the home of Charlton Athletic since 1919. The club spent 1923/24 at the Mount Stadium in Catford as part of an ill-fated merger with Catford Southend. When that fell though, Charlton returned to the Valley the following season.

Amid financial turmoil, Charlton moved out of The Valley shortly after the start of the 1985/86 season. For the next seven years they shared Selhurst park and Upton Park with Crystal Palace and West Ham respectively, returning to a refurbished Valley in December 1992.
