Darren was with Derry City in 2009 and played in FAI Cup and League Cup games. He attracted great interest from English and Scottish clubs and went on a six month loan to Celtic in January 2010. He returned to Derry in the summer and made nine league appearances in the latter half of the 2010 season.
Darren did not re-sign for 2011.
