Tomer is a goalkeeper who was born in Israel but represented Canada in International football. He began his career in America where he played with Toronto FC, Detroit Ignition and Newark Ironbound Express before moving to Europe where he signed for Nistru Otaci in Moldova.

After a year in Europe Tomer returned to the US to play for Harrisburg City Islanders but he was soon back in Europe where he had spells with VPS in Finland and Orebro SK in Sweden. In January 2013 he went to Israel where he spent two years with Maccabi Tel Aviv, after which he played with Finnish side RoPS and Helsingborgs in Sweden.

In December 2016 Tomer signed for Stephen Bradley at Shamrock Rovers. Tomer re-signed with Stephen Bradley's Shamrock Rovers for the 2018 season. In July 2018, Tomer left Rovers by mutual consent after falling way down the pecking order to fourth choice following multiple high profile errors.
