Jake began his career at Westchester Flames in the US. He scored twenty seven goals in twenty eight games for the club, winning the Golden Boot and Rookie of the Year in 2012. In 2013, he was drafted by Philadelphia Union but he turned down the opportunity in order to go on trial with Maccabi Haifa. Unfortunately the club didn't offer him a contract, and after another trial with Austrian club F.C. Lustenau, he returned to the US to play for Jersey Express.

Jake stayed at Jersey Express for only a few months before signing for German side FC Darmstadt in August 2013. He scored ten goals in ten games for the club before moving to the newly formed Galway FC in January 2014. He transferred his goals to Irish football and scored fourteen goals in thirty-two appearances for the club as they earned promotion to the Premier Division after beating Shelbourne and UCD in the play-offs.

Jake stayed with club for the 2015 season and went on score twelve goals in thirty-three games as Galway finished tenth in the Premier Division. He also played in the EA Sports Cup Final, which Galway lost on penalties to St Pats. In November 2015, Jake returned to North America to play for the Canada based NASL side FC Edmonton.

In February 2018, Jake returned to Ireland, signing with St Patrick's Athletic ahead of the new season.

Then in January 2019, Jake moved to USL Division One side Greenville Triumph.
